The facility on London Bridge Road was specifically designed to meet their production needs after being in 6 different facilities over the 30 years. LBT currently has plants in Virginia Beach and El Paso, Texas. Our tour guide will be the founder Dr. Doug McDougal.
Doug has made floatation/bullet proof boarding vests for the Navy and Coast Guard (there is an Underwriters Lab section at this plant). This facility is set up so the materials come in at one end of the plant to get processed and come out a different exit door. Doug learned quality on his own and the experience of learning from evolving processes.
Over their more than three decade history, they have become a diverse family of brands beyond just “LBT” whose tactical nylon products are coveted by the U.S. military; Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement agencies; Foreign Governments and an array of foreign and domestic defense contractors. Outside the U.S., they have provided their gear to military and law enforcement customers in Great Britain, Canada, Jordan, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Sweden. With the launch of their LBX brand in 2011, they also now sell directly to individual consumers through their LBX website and other retail partners. In the summer of 2017, they launched an All-Pro Tactical brand of sports bags and equipment which applies the tactical technology learned from their military customers to support the performance of athletes young and old!
